The Art of Sailing - Commissioned Art
For the Love of Art, Salt Water and the Fine Lines of a Sailboat.
The love of art, and all it's mediums, translates well to or from the Sea's many art forms - the beauty of a storm, to a calm water fall-color-filled sunset, to a strong boat harnessing the smallest whiff of wind are all equalling breath taking to see or experience. The 'Art of Sailing' truly comes in many forms on and off the water, and now it further comes alive through friends of WaveSkills.
Commissioned Art for your Collection
For prints, gift ware or commissioned art pieces of your sailing visions visit good friend and extremely talented Julia O'Malley-Keyes's stunning artwork at: http://www.dayhillfineart.com/index.htm Her sensitive commissioned oil portraits, paintings of yacht regattas and internationally inspired creations combine to make her one of our era’s most acclaimed contemporary artists. Julia's paintings and Giclée reproductions are collected extensively by yachting enthusiasts, well known private collectors and corporate admirers of her work, throughout the United States, Europe and Canada. Am very pleased and honored to have Julia's artwork hanging in my home, or as friend's call it, at the York Point Yacht Club.

For a special birthday present, WaveSkills student Paul Kite was given a commissioned abstract piece by Canadian artist Julie Lancefield. To view his milestone gift, visit www.jlancefielddesigns.com. WaveSkills was tickled to have submitted a neophyte version of artwork to a local art exhibition featuring our very own logo. The piece was titled "Branding the Art of Sailing". The logo was a digitalized manipulation of flat lines, turned into curved waves - not so unlike the real thing. The WaveSkills name? It is an accumulation and blend of skills from attending the proverbial school of hard sailing knocks and obtaining certification from a world leading sailing organization.
