Learn to sail through our courses: Charter Lesson, Basic Course, Intermediate Course, Keelboat Race Course, Private Instruction, or Cruise & Learn Weekend.
 

 


All Programs at a Glance

WaveSkills offers the following opportunties:
 

Introductory Charter Lessons are available for potential new students to 'test the waters' to see if they would like to learn more. This guided experience allows for as little, to as much, hands on experience as you wish with the emphasis on learning to sail.  Introduction to Boating CYA certificates can be issued upon completion and request.

CYA Basic Course module allow participants to sail twice a week for a 4 week period in the evenings or a three daytime session, all leading to a Canadian Yachting Association certification.  See 'Basic course' for complete information.

CYA Intermediate Course, is for Basic Course certificate holders.  The entire course is afloat, and is offered over two weekends or week long.  Visits to neighbouring ports in NS, NB, and in PEI will be featured.
 

CYA Keelboat Racing offers certification in keelboat racing.  

Personalized Instruction is available aboard your own boat or a customized program for your family, group, team, or business. Programs offer flexible and personalized instruction and the chance to be sailing in Charlottetown, PEI, one of Atlantic Canada's most beautiful harbors.  Or we can sail to your home port. 

Cruise & Learn weekend is perfect for graduates of the Basic course leading to Intermediate certification.  Your skills are developed enroute to a local destination in NB, PEI, or NS, under the watchful assistance of an experienced instructor and racer/cruiser.  These weekends will be liveaboard for two to three days and sailing by day only.

PCOC - Pleasure Craft operators Cards will be required by September 2009 for all boat operators who have engines on board, inclusive of outboards. Exam or courses available at flexible times.

VHF/DSC - Maritime Radio Operators Certificate -  To operate an onboard VHF or DSC radio, operators must be certified.   Courses available - please contact, as website schedule is not always up to date.
 

Basic courses will be offered week day evenings while the Intermediate course will be held on two weekends. Maximum of four per boat. Now accepting students for the 2010 sailing season. Book early to ensure your spot & receive your CYA Course Manual and education pack!
